You may have seen some of the growing publicity about the impact of laughter on physical and mental health, and a number of studies now show that learning to laugh more often can boost the immune system, lift the mood, and reduce stress hormones – all of which those of us with ME could really do with!

Jo Eadie has recently finished training with the UK Laughter Network to lead sessions teaching people the benefits of laughter. Laughter exercises can often be physically demanding, and he has been looking at ways to adapt them to people with ME, as he feels we stand to gain a lot from it. Since starting to lead laughter sessions, he has found his own mood and energy lifted enormously.

So, why not come along for a free laugh!

Car directions from Cameron Toll shopping centre…

“Ahead will be another roundabout (with traffic lights) and you should be in
the right hand lane. You will be taking the second exit (A6095 signposted
Musselburgh) into Peffermill Road, which will soon become Niddrie Mains
Road. Follow the road and you will come to a crossroads with lights -stay
in the right hand lane- and go straight across”. On the right, you will
pass a Lidl, the Craigmillar Medical Centre, then turn right before the sign
for the Thistle Foundation. Ignore the first left - a slip road parallel to
the main one - and take the second left into the car park outside the
Tudsbery Building.
